Don't Worry. Don't Dream. Just Be.

It's so important that we just take time for ourselves. As I prepare for another audition season, and am getting ready to head over to Showpalace in Hudson, I am feeling a little overwhelmed. What must I do to make sure I am prepared for auditions? New songs? New monologues? What do I need to do to the house before I leave for two months? What does my husband need while I'm gone? Will he be alright?

It's easy to keep asking the questions. But I find if I am able to have just one day at home. One day where it's just me. With no pressure to get the routine right, with no one standing over me or waiting for me, and definitely with no self expectations that I will be a champion and conquer the world...THEN am I able to feel empowered. I take time to make my to do lists. To eat breakfast. To prioritize. To spend as much (or as little) time at the gym as I want. To wear whatever I want to the grocery store. To spend time with the Lord. To call my grandparents. And to understand and remind myself that I'm not perfect, and I'm not wonder-woman; but that it's okay.

It's those kind of days that I have to schedule into my life sometimes. It's those kind of days that stop all the questioning.
